My garment of 2017 would have to be my Fox Shirt. The pattern was a free PDF downloaded from Bootstrap fashion, who can generate a pattern based on your personal measurements here.

I would recommend the pattern if you need a simple button up shirt with full sleeves. For this version, I wanted a summer into Autumn transition piece, so I made an alteration to make the sleeves three-quarter length, and I made a swayback alteration for personal fit.

The fabric print is Mr Fox by Scion and I bought it from John Lewis for £18 per metre. I love this shirt because it fits me well, the print is bold and colourful without being too full-on, and I matched the pattern directionality at the sleeves.

In terms of improvement, I have not mastered the collar yet, and added the buttons the 'wrong' side for womenswear as I wanted the 'best' placket showing. I would also make the length longer in the body by a few inches.
